We wanted to let you know a little bit about the room:

• Young Preschool has children in it whose ages range from 2 ½ – 3 ½ .
• In this room, we work very hard on potty training so make sure to bring lots of extra pants and underwear so we are prepared for those accidents that go along with potty training.
• Also, please be sure to label your child’s clothes and any other belongings in order to assure their safe return home.
• Your child will have his/her own cubby and his/her own coat hook. These two things will be labeled with your child’s name and will each have a matching picture.
• Please bring a blanket to put in your child’s cubby for naptime.
• We try to limit the toys that are brought into the center to avoid misplacing them, but we realize that some days your child might just need to have that toy from home to make them feel better.
• We ask that you bring in a picture of your family for us to put up on the family board. This gives your child a picture to look at when they are sad, and it also makes the room feel a little more personal.
• You can call us anytime and as long as we are not outside we will be here for you to talk to. The extension number for The Sunflower Patch is 28.
• You can also contact us through email anytime. We try to check the email at least once in the morning, at naptime, and once again before we go home. The email address is sunflower@peeweepatch.com.

We also want to give you an overview of the things that we will be working on with your children throughout the next year:

 

• Sharing
• Manners
• Following directions
• Putting things back where they belong, and cleaning up after themselves
• Learning to use their words to resolve conflicts
• Learning how to hold scissors, crayons and pencils
• Taking turns and sharing
• Learning to put their shoes and coat on by themselves
• Washing their hands before and after meals and bathroom turns
• We will also begin working on recognizing numbers and letters, as well as continue working on colors and shapes
