My name is Dave Estes. I am a graduate of Oakland University's education program. I graduated in 2006 with a bachelor of science in elementary education. I have substitute taught in the Avondale, Lake Orion, and Warren Consolidated school districts, teaching grades K-8. Through my years of teaching, I found that my heart truly lies with the Pre-K age group, and that ultimately has led me here to the Pee Wee Patch and their Young Fives Program.
My wife and I are residents of Lake Orion for over three years now. We have two dogs, Ted and Joee and are soon expecting to add twin boys (Carter and Blake) to our family. During our free time, we enjoy visiting our favorite vacation spot, Mackinac Island. That is where we got engaged and eventually got married as well. We go back each year to visit.
When I’m not here working with children, you can usually find me in one of three places. First, I love watching Michigan football. Last year was a bit of a bummer, but I think we’ll rebound and have a better season this year. I hope all of the Michigan State fans savored their win last year, because it won’t be happening again for a while. LOL!!!
Second, I love to play video games. Something about them relaxes me, no matter how stressful my day was. But with the addition of the twins, I think my video gaming days may be numbered, and my diaper changing days are just beginning.
Lastly, I love to do projects around the house. The last thing I did was put wood floors throughout our condo. I love to building things and doing work around the house. It never quite stops. I’m a bit of a perfectionist. Once we have one thing done, I think I can improve another.
This year is going to be a fun and challenging year in the Young Fives. I look forward to working with you and your children throughout the year. See you in Young Fives.
