Your teachers, Ms. Casey and Ms. Christina are eager to welcome you and your child to the CABBAGE PATCH. To help ease the transition to the Cabbage Patch room, here are some things we would like you to know:
CURRICULUM – Throughout the year your child will work on several forms of literacy, self-help, small group activities and problem solving skills that will meet goals for kindergarten.
THEMES – We will have a theme of the month and a lesson plan every week posted on our class white board outside the classroom door. The themes and lesson plans will also be emailed to the parents.
CUBBY – Your child will have a cubby with their name on it. Their extra set of clothes may be placed inside their cubby.
HOOK – Your child will also have a hook with their name on it. Children may bring in a family picture to place above their hook. The hooks may be used for backpacks and coats to be stored.
MAILBOXES – Your child’s mailbox will have their name on it. Their art projects and other items that need to go home will be placed in their mailboxes.
CLOTHING – Please bring in a complete set of extra clothes for the appropriate season with your child’s first and last name labeled on them.
REST TIME – For nap time your child may bring a cot cuddler or a small throw blanket and a soft toy for use during rest time. Friday’s nap items will be sent home to be washed. This will help keep illnesses down. Please no bed-size pillows storage is limited.
TOY POLICY – A reminder, as stated in the Parent Handbook, all toys need to stay home unless it’s a soft toy that will be used for rest time.
CLASSROOM SIZE – The class size is larger. The ratio is one teacher to 12 children.
TOILETING – If your child needs assistance in the bathroom, please let your teachers know. We do encourage self-help and independent toilet use.
ALLERGIES – If your child has any allergies please inform the teachers immediately.
COMMUNICATION – Our door is always open for questions or concerns. Please feel free to call or email at: extension 19 or cabbage@peeweepatch.com
Sincerely,
Ms. Casey
&
Ms. Christina
