Preschool: Cabbage Patch

Casey S.
Nice to meet you! I am a 1999 graduate from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s in English with an emphasis in journalism. After graduation, I was a reporter for the Manistee News Advocate for 2 years. I covered several beats, one of which, was education where I realized I enjoyed spending more of my time with children. I returned home and began teaching Pre-K in the fall of 2001. I became a member of the Pee Wee Patch family in the fall of 2003!

In September of 2006, the next step of my life began as a happily married woman and in May of 2007 saw another big step with the arrival of my daughter, Ava. My other interests are reading, writing, traveling and riding on the back of my husband’s motorcycle.

Each day is special when I witness a child become empowered by the choices they make on their own and what they have learned from those choices. I enjoy each day that I get to spend with your child and witness their development to the next step.

Hello my name is Christina D. I've been at Pee Wee Patch since December of 2007. I previously worked in the Cherry Patch before coming to the Cabbage Patch.

I have received my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development in December 2007.  The most rewarding feeling about this field is when you see a child smile and say “I did it” when they accomplish something for the first time.  I have worked in this field for 13 years starting out as a babysitter.

I believe that children are our future.  As teachers, we need to encourage children through every stage of development:  emotionally, mentally, physically, and socially.  We help teach children on how to accept responsibility for their learning that is from their actions that shows that they are learning their independence.

I was born here in Michigan, but grew up in Kentucky.  I moved back to Michigan my senior year of High School.  I have two younger brothers:  John, and a baby brother, Hunter.

I like to spend my free time scrapbooking, going camping, and hanging out with my family and friends.
