MONTESSORI PRE-SCHOOL: A Day at Pee Wee Patch
5:30 – 7:30 Arrivals
log-in, drop off and good-byes,
supervised free play in designated rooms
7:30—8:30/9:00 Transition as more children join us
day care play time in Montessori class rooms, breakfast
clean up, move to the circle for story & wake up exercises
9:00 - 9:15 Circle: children are in Montessori classrooms
calendar and weather, theme discussion and activities
daily demonstration of new work for the classroom
9:15 – 10:30 Class time: groups in continuous rotation in Montessori classrooms
children divided into groups for enrichment sessions in art or science and nature
children start work on their rugs, go to the library shelf, art easel, glue table, sensory tables, sharing table, computers or are invited to work with a teacher for the day’s lesson
10:30 – 11:30 Circle: children are in Montessori classrooms
handwashing, snack (provided by Pee Wee Patch!)
Show & Tell
rotate “Specials” - Music (also provided weekly by PWP), Spanish, Creative Movement, Play Day PEE WEE PATCH HAS TUMBLE BUS!!!
11:30 – 1:00 lunch and recess
1:15 - 3:00 Afternoon class: children are in Montessori classrooms
bathroom turns, nap or rest time
Class time: after resting, children who don’t nap will participate in class and enrichment activities with special attention to Kdg. readiness skills
3:00 – 4:00 Circle: children are in Montessori classrooms
stories, large motor, enrichment activities
4:00 – 6:30 End of day
supervised free play, stations with games, art projects, coloring, playdough, etc.
outdoor recess (fall and spring weather permitting)
snack (provided by Pee Wee Patch!)
as children go home, classrooms are combined upstairs for playtime |
