The school age teachers are excited for you to join us in Cool Kids Down Under! Have you been sitting in school all day waiting to run, exercise, climb, slide, discover, build and have fun? If so, come play with us outside on our playscape, basketball court, bike path, sand box, or play many sports on our large field area. After snack and homework time, you can challenge your friends to a game of table pool or air hockey. Learn new strategies for chess, checkers and many other games! Pee Wee Patch’s School age program has much more to offer than just a cool and exciting atmosphere! Team building and lifelong skills are also learned through creative activities. These activities are mediated by the school age teachers to create a safe and stimulating environment. Our Cool Kids Down Under school age program allows the 1st through 6th graders the freedom and autonomy to flow through out their own facility apart from their younger peers. Schoolagers assert their own independence and decision making skills by making their own choices of activities they want to do; whether it’s in the Art and Science room, Game room, Snack room, or Library.
Before and after school students follow a schedule according to when the buses pick up in the morning and drop off in the afternoon. For parents, when you drop your child off in the morning, the Snack room will be opened for breakfast. If your child will be eating breakfast here before school, please make a note of the bus pick up times and make sure to arrive early enough so that your child will have time to eat breakfast! The Game room will then be opened for the students who have finished breakfast and who are going to hang out while waiting for the bus to pick them up.
When students are dropped off in the afternoon by the buses, time will be set aside for homework, as well as time for snack and hang out time in the Game room. At the end of the afternoon we will either be outside on the playground or in the Game room. There will be a sign posted on the door leading to the lower level stating if we are outside. Parents, if we are outside until 6:30pm we will have students bring their backpacks and belongings with them. If we are outside when you come to pick up your child, please come to the lower level, sign your child out, pick up their belongings and continue walking through the hallway and use the back staircase that will lead you to our playground.
